List 9 - Eleven proven ways to improve your weekend

Who said these things would improve your weekend?  Me!  So there.  Try just one if you aren't quite ready to throw caution to the wind or try them all if you are really, really brave.  Go for it.  You just might have a blast, laugh a lot, feel excitement, and make those around you smile.

1.   Go somewhere that reminds you of how small you are.  Relax.  Be quiet.  Enjoy.   

2.  Find some people you love (or some people who need to be loved) and hug them.

3.  Swing.  Swing on something, somewhere.

4.  Laugh.  If it doesn't come naturally at first, don't worry.  Just laugh.  Start laughing and see what happens.

5.  Spend some time with a book you love.  Read it, look at the pictures or just marvel at it for a bit.

6.  Find something furrier than you and love on it.

7.  Jump.  Where you jump is up to you; just jump.

8.  Do at least one thing that is just a bit out of your comfort zone.

9.  Find a hill.  Roll down it.  I mean it.

10.  Dance.  I mean this one, too.

11.  (This one is very important.)  Find a friend or acquaintance.  Choose one person to 'go first.'  That person needs to get on a bed or a couch or a big, comfy chair and lean off of the edge, upside down.  Then that person needs to talk.  Or sing.  Or laugh.  The person watching will then begin to laugh uncontrollably.  If you can watch someone do this and not laugh uncontrollably, please call 678.231.6369 to participate in a medical research trial.

  1. 1. Keep a gratitude journal and write in it'll be surprised at just how much good there is in the world, even on the roughest of days.

    2. Remember to breathe deeply. It's amazing what focusing on your own breathing does for your soul. I visualize "goodness" going in, and the "yuck" being released.

    3. Listen to the world outside. The sounds of birds, rain, wind, ocean waves, etc. are so beautiful.

    4. Crank the radio and sing at the top of your lungs!

    5. Create...whether it's through painting, writing,
    music, performing, storytelling, etc. Be inspired to think outside the box regardless of others opinions.

    6. Smile....often.

    7. Invest in others. Go beyond the superficial and dig a little deeper.

    8. Hug a lot. They always make you feel that you're part of a whole.

    9. Watch funny movies and t.v. shows.

    10. If you go to bed with a happy face, chances are you'll wake up with one.

    11. Pray. It lowers your heart rate, while filling your soul.
