A sunny day, a train track and two precious boys!

I adore capturing real life moments with fun people, so this shoot was a blast!  I was excited when this awesome gang chose the railroad tracks.  Railroads are fun settings for neat images; but, more importantly, these guys love everything railroad!  Authentic spots are the best, and it was a joy to follow along as these two fellows investigated, played and daydreamed.

They played and I chased those beautiful blue eyes - perfect day!

I love the way they are relaxed and enjoying themselves, and I love to wonder about the days in the future when they'll share these photos with their little ones.  Good stuff.

 Again, the eyes . . . oh, the eyes.

Waiting for Anna . . .

It was a blast photographing this sweet family, as they prepared for the birth of the newest member of the family.  Anna has just been born, but they spent years and years as a family of four.  This gang is super special to me, and it was fun to be with them and try to capture pieces of life as they had known it.

There is no doubt that little Anna is lucky to be part of this family, and these two guys will be fantastic big brothers!

I love being with people, taking our time and getting the real stuff - real people doing what they really do.

Here's to special families, awesome big brothers and precious little sisters!

Two boys, one barn and tons of fun . . .

Stare into those big blues and you'll see one of the reasons I adore what I do!  

This was a super fun shoot with two special guys I've had the pleasure of knowing for a good bit of their lives.  Meeting a couple of boys and their mother at a friend's farm makes for big fun, wondrous eyes and lots to look at and investigate!

We were just in time to watch the horses get fed, and that made for long, dreamy looks . . .

and a few conversations!

Check out these faces!  This is one special family, with two awesome boys I get to watch grow up!  Have I mentioned I love my job?

These images make me happy.  I look at them and I see these two cool kids, just as they are in life - happy, inquisitive and smart.

This one, I could actually eat for dinner.  I love that we have that moment captured forever!  Love the way they are looking at each other.   Mmmmmmm.

I think this is good proof that family photos don't hurt, folks - it's fun!

Sweet, sweet smiles . . .

Meet my precious friends, Gavin and Gracie.

I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again . . . I am a lucky photographer!

Often I find myself photographing folks I know well, and these two I have known as long as they've been on this earth.  I've been fortunate to share many special moments with these two precious souls - I've laughed with them and learned with them.

I adore photographing children and anticipating what they might do next, what will make them laugh, when they will glance at one another.

Children keep things moving; and young ones with this much personality are a blast to capture in action!

(I just couldn't 'erase' this scuffed elbow - it seemed to lend to the personality of her look!)

This shoot was made even more special because of what this sweet Gracie was doing the following day  - she was hours away from having her hair cut and donated to help children going through cancer treatment.

Portraits of children are made in the eyes, and I love Gracie's eyes in this photo.  Each time I look at this photo, I find myself drawn right into those familiar, beautiful eyes.

Those eyes . . . again.  I feel like Gavin could start talking to me when I see him here!

I love photos that seem life-like.  This one did!  I have seen Gracie make this face so many times; and when I look at this photo, I feel like I can hear her giggle.

I like that!
